- District Championship Meet
- All Teams from the Central District compete at the District Meet
- as well as Individuals that do not have a full team
- There are 4 District in the State of Ohio for Gymnastics (Central, Southwest, Northwest, & Northeast)
- Each team is able to compete 6 athletes per event
- There can be different athletes on each event
- There may be athletes that do not compete at this meet (but all athletes should be prepared to compete at all times- as substitutions are sometimes needed to due illness, injury, or other unforeseen circumstances)
- Of the athletes that compete, they may compete on anywhere from 1 to 4 events.
- Teams and Individuals can qualify from the District Championship to the State Championship meet
- Top 2 teams as the District Championship will advance to the State Meet
- Top 8 Athletes on each event and the All-Around will advance to the State Meet
- There is only one Division in High School Gymnastics (as compared to divisions by age group in Club Gymnastics)
- District Invitational Meet
- This meet is held the day after the District Championship Meet
- This is a competition where gymnasts have the opportunity to compete on ANY event that they did not compete in the District Championship Meet.
- If a gymnast competes on 2 event at the District Championship- she can then compete the other 2 events at this meet
- There is not a limit on the number of gymnasts that can compete per event
- This meet is designed to give all gymnasts the ability to compete on all 4 events during the District Weekend!
- This meet is unique to the Central District and has been held for over 30 years!
- There is no team score or team awards at this meet
- Ribbons/medals are given for top finishers at this meet.
- State Championship Meet
- Teams and Individuals will compete that have qualified from the 4 Districts in Ohio
- There are 2 days for this competition : Team Comp Day and Individual Comp Day
- This year is Saturday/Sunday March 2nd & 3rd
- The meet is held at Hilliard Bradley High School
- The Hilliard Gymnastics teams work at this meet as a fundraiser for our teams!
- This includes set up and tear down of the equipment for the meet!
- We need parent/family volunteers to assist with the set up and tear down of equipment.
- The equipment is rented from an outside company and brought in by semi-truck.
- We will be setting up on Friday March 1st for the meet.
- We will tear down the equipment following competition on Sunday
- Gymnasts will be assigned work assignments during the 2 days of the meet.
- Gymnasts need to be prepared to work set up, tear down, and BOTH days of the meet
- Some gymnasts may end up only working one day of the meet depending on need
- Jobs for the gymnasts during the meet include (but may not be limited to):
- Flashing scores
- Timing falls on events
- Running scores
- Monitoring flow from warmup gym to main gym
- Holding/Moving mats
- Etc.
- Athletes that qualify for the State meet competition will have altered/decreased job duties due to their participation in competition
