Hilliard Gymnastics: Bradley-Darby-Davidson

Here are some updates and details on the upcoming weeks:

Wednesday 2/5: Practice will end at 7:30

Thursday 2/6: Darby & Bradley OCC Championship Meet.  Davidson Gymnasts are not required to attend- but are welcome to! Team Meal for Darby/Bradley in Darby Commons at 3:00. Competition will begin at 6:00 at Worthington Kilbourne.

Monday 2/10: Senior Night Meet. Senior Night announcements/Activities will start around 6:10. Competition will begin at 6:30

Tuesday 2/11: We are the “Host Site” for the Buckeye OCC division that evening.  Bradley & Darby Gymnasts will report at 3:30 to set up for the meet to set up.  I will provide pizza for dinner for the gymnasts.   I will need several of the gymnasts to assist with score flashing, etc.   Otherwise, they can stay and work on homework,etc.  Davidson will report at 7:00.  We will have a short practice for all from the end of competition ( around 7:15/7:30) until 9:00 when we will tear down the equipment.

Wednesday 2/12:  Davidson OCC Championship Meet.  Bradley and Darby gymnasts are not required to go, but are welcome to if they would like to.   Davidson Gymnasts need to report at 3:00 for a 3:15 bus time.  I will provide Jimmy Johns for dinner on site at the Meet for the Davidson Gymnasts that evening. Competition will being at 6:00 at the Marysville Early Career Center (833 N,. Maple St, Marysville)

Tuesday 2/18:  We are hosting the “District Invitational” meet- this is the meet where gymnasts in the District can compete on any event that they are not scheduled to compete on at the District Championship on Saturday 2/22. We will be having Jimmy Johns for dinner that night for the gymnasts.

Information for the McGee Invitational:

WHERE: Dublin Jerome High School

7:45 am– all Gymnasts report to Darby

9:30 am– Flight One Warmup

9:50 am- Introduction of Teams/Judges

10:00 am- Competition begins (flight one)

This meet will be very similar to the Hilliard Invitational- there are 16-17 teams participating in this competition.

The teams will rotate through Warmups and Competition 4 at a time.  At this time- I do not know what Flights and of the Hilliard teams will be competing in.

We are only able to compete top 6 gymnasts per event as this is an Invitational.

Darby & Bradley Parents and Gymnasts:

Each parent and each gymnast must set up a “Final Forms” account prior to starting the season.

The parent must set up their account BEFORE the student sets up their account.

Tryouts for the 2019-2020 Varsity Gymnastics Team:

Saturday Nov 2nd, 1:00-3:30 pm

Sunday Nov 3rd, 1:30-3:30pm

Both days held at Fliptastic! Gymnastics

Gymnasts MUST have an up to date Physical PRIOR to Tryouts!

 (you can get a Physical at the Little Clinic or similar places if needed)

For Gymnasts that make the team- there will be a MANDATORY Team Meeting for Parents & Gymnasts following the start of the season- Day/Time TBD.

Pre-Season Gymnastics Conditioning begins Monday October 7th!

When: Mondays and Wednesdays from October 7th -October 30th.

Where: Davidson Wrestling room

Time: 4:30-5:45.

Interested gymnasts are strongly encouraged to attend if not engaged in fall sports during those times!!!

Tryouts will be in the beginning of November- stay tuned for details!

Please remember that all athletes MUST have a Physical Completed PRIOR to participation.

First and foremost- I want to say how proud I am of our 3 Teams after this weekend!  We had great performances from all 3 schools this weekend- I could not have asked for more!

Here are some updates for the upcoming week.

Practice:  Tuesday 5:30-8:30 @ Davidson. This is for ALL gymnasts.  We will be practicing as well as doing some season wrap up things.  This is still a required practice.

State Gymnastics Meet: (reminder- all of the work that our team does for this meet is a FUNDRAISER! and required)

Thursday:  Report time will likely be between 7:30/8:00 (will confirm soon)

Set up for the State Gymnastics meet at Hilliard Bradley High School.  There is a Tournament B-Ball Game that night- so we will most likely not be able to set up the Gym until 8:15/8:30- but we will know as it gets closer what the exact timeline will be. We will be setting up both the Auxiliary Gym/Warmup Gym as well as the main gym.  Other things that we will be doing include getting the judges tables ready (linens, flowers, snacks/candy, start value cards, other misc supplies) setting up any other components of the Competition gym to make sure it is ready to go on Friday!!

Any Parents that are able to assist- will only make things go much faster. Especially if we have a few parents that are willing to assist with getting the equipment off of the truck (equipment is rented for this event)

Friday:  Team Competition Night for the State Gymnastics Meet:

Gymnasts will need to report right after school to Hilliard Bradley (3:00/3:15).  They will be oriented to their job for the evening and sent to their stations.  (gymnasts will be getting their assignments on Tuesday at Practice)

Any parent volunteers will get their report info separately.

Saturday:  Individual Competition day for the State Gymnastics Meet:

Gymnasts will report for their jobs at 11:15

Any parent volunteers will get their report info separately.

Immediately following the competition- it will be all hands on deck to get the equipment torn down and loaded back onto the truck.  Again- Any and All parent helpers (or older siblings, etc) will make this work go much, much faster.  Parents & any gymnasts not assigned to a specific job during the last rotation of competition will be able to get the warmup gym torn down and ready to load to save on our overall time.  It is really important to have everyone there to help so that it gets done in a timely manner!

The Davidson “All Sports Banquet” Will be on Thursday March 14th (Darby & Bradley are not doing a combined sports event this year)

Our Team Banquet will be on Monday March 18th- Location TBD.

We have not set the date for the Team Sleepover at Fliptastic!  yet, so STAY TUNED!!!
